Defining Standards For An Open, More Accessible Web.
The World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) is an international community where Member organizations and the public work together to develop internationally accepted Web standards. The consortium is led by the Webs inventor Tim Berners-Lee and CEO Jeffrey Jaffe, W3C's mission is to lead the Web to its full potential.
Web standards are needed to establish a universally accepted method for rendering and displaying web pages across all types of browsing device & operating system. As more and more devices become internet connected, ensuring each device displays the web pages and content in the manner that was intended by the developer will ultimately lead to a better browsing experience for all.
